Unexplained Infertility in 2016 and Starting the Journey of a Lifetime

Welcome!

Greetings and welcome to my site where I will be sharing our personal journey. Starting the Journey of a Lifetime: Unexplained Infertility; which started in 2015.

The beginning before Unexplained Infertility

After a year of courtship, my husband and I decided to enter matrimony. Our aim was to expand our family. My husband had prior experience as a father with an older son.

After A Year= Fertility Specialist=Unexplained Infertility

After a year of trying to conceive, we made the decision to consult with a fertility specialist. Subsequently, there were extensive testing on both my spouse and myself . There were no issues with my husband’s test. The diagnosis I received, on the other hand, was Unexplained Infertility. Which is a condition in which fertility testing fails to identify a specific cause for a couple’s inability to conceive. This diagnosis left us feeling confused and uncertain about what the future held. This left us with uncertainty and difficult decisions about how to proceed with our family-building journey. Insemination through the uterus (IUI), in vitro fertilization (IVF), lifestyle changes, and fertility medication are usual treatment options for this diagnosis. Ultimately, we chose to commence with an IUI cycle at that time.

More on Unexplained Infertility

Unexplained infertility is a term used in the field of reproductive medicine to describe a situation where a couple is unable to conceive despite undergoing a thorough medical evaluation that fails to identify a specific cause for their infertility. In other words, after various tests and examinations, healthcare providers cannot find any apparent issues with the reproductive system that could explain the difficulty in achieving pregnancy.

The standard fertility evaluation includes assessing factors such as ovulation, sperm quality, Fallopian tube function, and the overall health of the reproductive organs. When all these factors appear normal, and there is no clear explanation for the infertility, the diagnosis may be labeled as unexplained infertility.

It’s important to note that unexplained infertility does not mean there are no underlying issues; rather, it implies that current medical knowledge and diagnostic tools have not identified the specific cause. Couples experiencing unexplained infertility may still have options for assisted reproductive technologies such as in vitro fertilization (IVF) or other fertility treatments to increase their chances of conception. Consulting with a fertility specialist can help in exploring further options and personalized approaches based on the couple’s situation.
