Anne Hathaway Experienced Miscarriage While Portraying a Pregnant Character

In a candid interview with Vanity Fair, 41-year-old actress Anne Hathaway revealed her experience of suffering a miscarriage in 2015 while portraying a pregnant character on stage.

During her six-week run in the one-woman off-Broadway show “Grounded,” where she played a pilot who becomes pregnant, Hathaway faced the heartbreaking loss. Despite the emotional turmoil, she continued to perform, having to enact childbirth each night.

Hathaway, who later welcomed two sons with husband Adam Shulman, shared that she initially kept her miscarriage private but eventually confided in friends backstage. Reflecting on her journey to motherhood, she expressed solidarity with others facing fertility struggles.
