Blue star Simon Webbe and his wife Ayshen have opened up about their fertility journey, revealing that they have experienced a third miscarriage
The couple shared their story on pregnancy UK charity Tommy’s Instagram page during Baby Loss Awareness Week.
Simon, 44, and Ayshen, 43, recently welcomed their daughter Cyan in April 2021 after enduring two devastating miscarriages and a failed round of IVF.
Despite the challenges they faced, the couple remains hopeful and determined to expand their family. They expressed their gratitude for their daughter, describing her as everything they had dreamed of and more.
However, since Cyan’s birth, Simon and Ayshen have suffered another miscarriage and an unsuccessful frozen embryo transfer.
Both Simon and Ayshen have struggled with their mental health following these losses
Simon emphasized the importance of seeking support and not going through the grieving process alone, particularly for fathers and partners who may feel the need to stay silent. He encouraged finding healthy coping mechanisms such as talking to a friend or going for a walk.
Ayshen commended Simon for his unwavering support throughout her difficult pregnancy and birth with Cyan. The couple faced challenges when doctors discovered that their daughter had fetal growth restriction, leading to an early caesarean section delivery at 37 weeks. Ayshen expressed her worries and emotions during that time but credited Simon for being a calming influence and a source of strength.
Simon and Ayshen got married in a small ceremony at the Corinthia Hotel London, with their Blue bandmates serenading guests. Simon proposed to Ayshen during a vacation in Jamaica on Valentine’s Day in 2017, following a three-year relationship. They had known each other for over ten years and slowly built their connection over time.
Simon also has a 26-year-old daughter named Alanah from a previous relationship.
The couple’s openness about their fertility journey aims to raise awareness and provide support for others going through similar experiences
