US model Chrissy Teigen and her husband, singing supremo, John Legend, have welcomed their fourth child – a son – via a surrogate
The couple shared their joy with their Instagram followers in a surprise announcement.
Chrissy said she had always wanted four children and that her dream had come true.
The couple had recently welcomed their daughter, Esti, in January 2023, and they have two older children, Miles, born in 2018 and Luna, the couple’s first child, born in 2016.
Chrissy talked about the son they lost, Jack.
She said in her post: “For as long as I can remember, I have always wanted four children,
“After losing Jack, I didn’t think I would be able to carry any more babies on my own.
“To be honest, I’ve blocked out a lot of my mindset during that time, but one clear memory is being surrounded by people who wanted to ensure I wouldn’t go through that pain and loss again.”
She discussed the couple contacting a surrogacy agency to discuss having tandem surrogates carry two babies.
But Chrissy said she felt an overwhelming desire to try to carry one more time, which resulted in her becoming pregnant with Esti.
Chrissy said: “Around the same time, we also met the most incredible, loving, compassionate surrogate we could ever imagine, Alexandra.
“I knew she was a perfect match for us when we spoke to her. All our wishes and dreams aligned.
“I wanted our children to play. I wanted dinner together. I wanted to lay my head on her belly and be able to find the hiccups and kicks.
“I wanted them to be in our lives for as long as time would allow.”
Chrissy thanked Alexandra for giving her what she called ‘this incredible gift’.
She said: “We are so happy to tell the world he is here, with a name forever connected with you, Wren Alexander Stephens.”
