The American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) has recently launched an ad campaign in Ohio, urging voters to support “Yes on Issue 1” during the upcoming elections on November 7th
Issue 1 seeks to protect the right to reproductive healthcare, including abortion, contraception, and fertility care, by enshrining it in the state constitution.
This ballot measure is unique to Ohio in 2023, making it a significant election that will be closely observed across the US
ASRM is encouraging Ohioan voters to vote in favor of Issue 1, emphasizing the importance of preserving patients’ rights to access the healthcare procedures they require. The ad campaign will utilize radio and internet advertising, reaching various cities and towns across Ohio, from Chillicothe to Cincinnati, and from Dayton to Toledo.
Despite attempts to hinder the democratic process and the spread of misleading information by opponents, ASRM remains confident that Ohioans will exercise their right to vote and express their support for individual decision-making in medical matters rather than leaving it to the government. Sean Tipton, the Chief Advocacy and Policy Officer of ASRM, expressed this sentiment.ASRM, a global leader in multidisciplinary reproductive medicine research, ethical practice, and education, has been actively contributing to reproductive care and science for almost a century. Their impact includes providing funding opportunities for reproductive research, delivering evidence-based education and public health information, and advocating for reproductive healthcare professionals and their patients. Headquartered in Washington, DC, with additional operations in Birmingham, AL, ASRM has members in over 100 countries.
