Emily Ratajkowski plans to ‘go it alone’ to have sibling for son

Model and author Emily Ratajkowski has revealed she sees nothing wrong with having a second child as a single mother – and we couldn’t agree more

It appears that more women are taking control of their fertility and deciding to have children as single women and more women are actively freezing their eggs in the hope that they may be able to have children at a different stage in their life.

The 31-year-old said she was planning on freezing her eggs to have a sibling for her son, Sly, following her divorce from her husband of four years, Sebastian Bear-Clard in September 2022.

Emily was talking on her High Low podcast about her personal life and the fertility decisions she was pondering.

She said: “I personally wouldn’t be afraid of getting pregnant and giving birth as a single mother.

“I very much see that for my future deciding to do IVF in my late-30s to give Sly a sibling.

“I think I definitely would like to have more children. I really love being a mum. I’m not sure I’m going to find someone that I want to raise a child with.”

She went on to say freezing her eggs was an option she was seriously considering and that dating as a single mother would not be a problem for her.

She said: “A friend of mine, a very famous woman with many sisters when I told her I was getting divorced, was like ‘Don’t worry like guys are not deterred by you having a child.

“And guess what? She was right. I will say there are men who are more respectful of my family.”

The London-born model was recently in the news for being papped kissing former One Direction singer and now successful solo artist, Harry Styles.

Her book, My Body, a New York Times bestseller, explores what it is like to be a woman in today’s society and she opens up about her own experiences. It is available on Amazon.
