Gigi Gorgeous and Nats Getty’s Fertility Journey

In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, YouTuber and LGBTQ advocate Gigi Gorgeous shares her incredible journey towards parenthood with her husband Nats Getty

The couple recently received the joyful news that they have two viable embryos after completing in vitro fertilization (IVF).

In the interview, Gigi opens up about the challenges and sacrifices they faced along the way. As Gigi had been on hormones for over a decade, she had to make a complete lifestyle shift, which involved stopping her hormones, committing to a fitness routine, and making changes to her daily habits. Gigi explains that initially, she didn’t consider freezing her DNA for future children, but after getting to know Nats and their shared desire to have kids, she decided to explore the possibility. Despite the fear and uncertainty, Gigi made the decision to stop hormones altogether and focused on her fitness journey.

After taking a break from hormones and dedicating herself to her fitness routine, Gigi’s body underwent a transformation. She discovered that she now had active sperm, which was a significant milestone on their path to parenthood. Nats also froze his eggs, and together they embarked on their first round of IVF, resulting in the creation of two embryos – a boy and a girl.

Gigi and Nats express their gratitude for the opportunity to have biological children and emphasise that the gender of the embryos is not their primary concern. They are simply grateful to have healthy embryos. Sharing their story online, Gigi hopes to inspire and educate others, particularly transgender individuals, about the importance of considering fertility preservation options before undergoing hormone replacement therapy.

Their journey has been filled with ups and downs, but Gigi and Nats remain focused on their ultimate goal of starting a family together. Their story serves as a beacon of hope and resilience, reminding us that with determination and support, dreams can become a reality.
