Dr. Ippokratis Sarris, a consultant in reproductive medicine, and director of King’s Fertility told the Dail Mail that maintaining optimal testicular temperature is crucial for sperm production, and prolonged use of heated items may affect this process.
Allan Pacey, a male fertility expert and professor of andrology at the University of Manchester suggests that men planning to conceive should turn off heated car seats and electric blankets to safeguard their reproductive health.
Studies indicate that a rise in testicular temperature can alter sperm count, sperm shape, and motility. The cautionary advice aligns with previous warnings about factors like wearing tight pants and using warm laptops directly on the lap, all of which can contribute to increased testicular heat.
