A woman from Louisville, Georgia, has revealed she became a surrogate mother due to her love of being pregnant
Yessenia Latorre, 26, says she has had all the children she desires so far in life and wants to do what she can to help others realise the joy of becoming parents.
Yessenia, a surrogate educator, said she experienced a miscarriage and knows all too well the pain and struggle of trying to conceive.
She told the British press: “Going through my miscarriage made me realise that so many women have problems getting pregnant.
“There are so many people out there who deserve to have children, and having that miscarriage made me realise I want to help others.”
Yessenia became a surrogate for the first time in 2022 after her husband Trey gave his blessing
The couple already has two children, aged five and three, and did not want anymore.
She gave birth to a baby boy in March 2023.
She said: “I wanted to be a surrogate. I spoke with my husband, and he was supportive. I never felt any maternal bond with the baby. His parents are going to give him the world. I feel so proud and accomplished. What I gave them is truly priceless.”
Yessenia was paid $40,000 and $800 for maternity clothes, and her surrogacy agreement was set up by the agency SurrogacyFirst.
She said it was important that she could stay in touch with the family and has been invited to the child’s birthday parties.
Yessenia said she would love to be a surrogate again in the future, but for now, she is working to break down the taboos surrounding being a surrogate and what it involves.
She said: “Being a surrogate exceeded my expectations.”
