October 2022- What comes next?

Next? …On Thursday, October 27th of 2022, I reached out to the nurse regarding the subsequent course of action. The nurse sent the prescription for Provera to the pharmacy. Instructions were for me to take it for 10 days to induce my menstrual cycle. I received information that my doctor would present my case at an upcoming conference to discuss potential next steps. The required financial clearance for the upcoming cycle was successfully completed. The next day, I picked up the Provera prescription from the pharmacy and promptly began the medication.

I got my period, what’s next?

On Tuesday, November 15th, I made contact with the clinic to notify them about the onset of my menstrual cycle. Upon reviewing my medical chart, I came across a message sent by my doctor on November 3rd. This message indicated that the physicians had reached a consensus. The consensus was with respect to the suggestion for an additional hysteroscopy before advancing to another Frozen Embryo Transfer cycle. The physician had expressed an interest in engaging in a discussion with me, either later on the same day (November 3rd) or the subsequent day (November 4th).

I must acknowledge that the conveyed message, without any attempt made to contact me via telephone or engage in prior discussion with my husband and me, left me feeling unsettled. It left me with a sense of unease. I patiently awaited a response from the nurse. Choosing to disregard the message from the doctor as I found myself at a loss for words at that point.

At this time, my husband and I opted to investigate alternative clinics with the intention of obtaining an additional opinion.

Challenges and Infertility

Dealing with infertility is a unique and personal journey. At times you may find different strategies effective for specific situations. Sometimes seeking professional support and maintaining open communication are key elements in navigating the challenges of infertility.

Arriving at the decision to seek an additional opinion was challenging for both my husband and I. The fertility journey is already difficult, and it becomes even more daunting when one feels unheard.
