Olympian Tom Daley and his film director husband Dustin Lance Black have announced they have welcomed a second child
The couple, who have been married for six years, revealed the news in a statement in The Times newspaper.
The statement said: “Black-Daley on 28th March to Thomas Robert Daley and Dustin Lance Black, a son, Phoenix-Rose.”
The pair married in Devon in 2017 and a year later welcomed their first child, a boy they called Robert Ray, in memory of Tom’s father, who passed away following a cancer battle.
They had kept the second surrogacy pregnancy a secret from their fans and the first news broke was in the British broadsheet, and later Tom took to Instagram to tell his 3.2 million followers.
The pair have long been advocates of surrogacy in the LGBTQ+ community and have been outspoken on their views on the laws surrounding the UK surrogacy laws.
But things could be looking up in that department as the Law Commission has recently published its findings on what the government should do to bring the UK surrogacy laws up to date.
The pair had been the subject of a documentary on surrogacy, but it is believed the plans have been shelved for now.
