Their love story began in their youth, dating for two years before parting ways, only to be reunited and rediscover love over two decades later. Sam’s unwavering determination, honed through her career as a police officer, and Ian’s resilience as a firefighter, fortified them as they battled infertility.

Their journey wasn’t without heartbreak, with Sam’s struggle against cervical cancer at 21 leaving her infertile. But undeterred, they pursued IVF, facing multiple setbacks and losses along the way. Despite the crushing blows, they clung to hope and each other, eventually finding success with a clinic in Cyprus, where Sam became pregnant with twins at the age of 52.

The road to motherhood was fraught with danger, as Sam battled life-threatening pre-eclampsia during her pregnancy. However, on August 3, 2022, their daughters, Summer and Rubi-Mae, were born, bringing immeasurable joy and fulfillment to their lives.

Now, as they revel in the joys of parenthood, Sam and Ian remain resilient in the face of criticism, embracing their roles as older parents with gratitude and determination. Their journey serves as a testament to the power of perseverance and love, proving that indeed, all good things come to those who wait.
