By Sue Bedford (MSc Nutritional Therapist)

Start your day off in a great way to help support health and fertility with this balanced, ‘Nutritious and Delicious’  Manganese Rich, Antioxidant Smoothie.

Pineapple – a favourite fruit when it comes to fertility and a good source of many important nutrients including manganese.  Pineapples contain the anti-inflammatory enzyme Bromelain important for conditions such as Endometriosis. Bromelain also has an anticoagulant effect – so great for blood flow.

Spinach – provides a good amount of manganese, magnesium along with folate, vitamin c, vitamin A and iron.

Kiwi Fruit – maybe small but they pack a great nutritional punch! Kiwi Fruit contains one of the highest vitamin C content of any fruit.  Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant. Antioxidants play a key role in keeping our bodies energized, cleansed and invigorated. From vitamin C and E to folate, kiwifruit has it all — and then some! They also contain a good amount of fibre too.

Milk (of your choice) – A great source of protein, calcium and other nutrients- important for balancing sugar levels, growth and repair of cells, enzymes and hormones…..the list goes on!

These ingredients combined pack a great nutritional punch which not only helps to hydrate our cells but is also a good source of manganese and provides antioxidant benefits too.
