A woman who has suffered two ectopic pregnancies rendering her infertile, wants to raise awareness of the condition
Jayne Oakley, from Ipswich, told BBC Radio Suffolk she wants to help other people who might be facing the same issue.
Jayne said she had not heard of the condition before her first pregnancy.
Her first pregnancy, in 2013, ended at eight weeks as the foetus was found to be growing in her fallopian tube.
She fell pregnant again, which ended for the same reason at 11 weeks.
The pregnancies ended with her losing both fallopian tubes.
She said: “It’s very heartbreaking to be told now I can’t have my own children. It is really hard. People say to me, ‘You’re lucky not to have children’ Well, I’m not lucky because I’d love to be a mum.”
Throughout August, Jayne is participating in the Ectopic Pregnancy Trust one in 80 challenge fundraiser to raise awareness of the condition by completing 80 miles during the month.
According to the organisation, one in 80 pregnancies end as an ectopic.
