US fashion influencer Whitney Port and her husband, Tim Rosenman, are said to be considering surrogacy to have a sibling for their son
The couple, who had their son, Sunny, in 2017, has suffered secondary infertility, with Whitney suffering several miscarriages in recent years.
The 38-year-old told US Weekly in an exclusive interview in the lead-up to Amazon Prime Day that she was putting it out in the universe that surrogacy was on the couple’s radar.
She said: “I’m still figuring things out, and nothing is, like, 100 per cent yet, so it’s one of those things where you are scared to put it out into the universe until you know what’s happening.
“But for me, like, I suffered secondary fertility, and it’s just been such a process mentally and physically to get that second baby. And so, we’re going through the motions of surrogacy and really thinking seriously about that and the embryos we have stored.”
She said she hoped it would happen soon.
She said: “It doesn’t happen overnight. It’s a whole thing.”
Whitney also talked about how trying to get pregnant took over her life, and she had to take a minute to get her head straight.
She said: “It took over my whole being. I couldn’t be present and happy and a decent version of myself. So I think, hopefully if this new route can happen, that would be the biggest blessing of all time. But, we will have to see.”
After the final miscarriage, the couple was advised to try IVF, and even though it was not something Whitney wanted to do, she said the reality of not having a second child would be too much pain to bear.
She said: “I’ve been feeling so physically ill that it made me depressed, so I want to get physically better first and get my head straight. I just want to be happier.”
