American television personality Whitney Port has opened up about a challenging and heartbreaking setback in her quest to expand her family
In the recent episode of her podcast, “With Whit,” the 38-year-old former reality star and her husband, Tim Rosenman, shared their decision to pursue surrogacy last year following struggles with conceiving. Despite finding an “amazing” surrogate, the couple faced heartbreaking back-to-back miscarriages from two embryo transfers, with the most recent miscarriage occurring just a month ago.
The miscarriages, both happening after seven and a half weeks, have left the couple questioning potential issues with the surrogate or their embryos. Now at a crossroads, they contemplate their next steps, considering options such as trying a new lab, undergoing another round of egg retrieval, or utilising the remaining embryos from the last batch.
While they are not starting from scratch due to the fortunate position of having three embryos and support from a surrogacy agency, Port acknowledges that each miscarriage feels like a reset emotionally. The process has proven physically and emotionally taxing, with Rosenman highlighting the administrative challenges and added exhaustion associated with the fertility journey.
Port expresses the constant worry about factors beyond her control, emphasising the need to navigate work responsibilities and be present for their 6-year-old son, Sonny Sanford, amidst the ongoing fertility challenges.
