Khloe Kardashian talks about the time it has taken to bond with surrogate son

US reality television star Khloe Kardashian has opened up about how long it has taken to bond with her son, Tatum after he was born via surrogate

Khloe was talking to her family about feeling disconnected from Tatum and that it had only taken her days to bond with her daughter, True, but that she was still working on connecting with her second child.

She said: “The connection took days with True. With Tatum, it is taking months, and we still don’t have a complete bond.”

Khloe, 36, said she could not understand why and felt guilty about her feelings.

She said: “I don’t treat him differently; I just question myself sometimes.

“I felt really guilty about this woman just having a baby. I take the baby, and I go into another room, and you’re sort of separated. It’s such a transactional experience because it’s not about him.

“I wish someone was honest about surrogacy and the difference of it. It is still great, it’s just very different.”

In the conversation with Kris Jenner, she said she feels she is really hard on herself most of the time.

Kris told her she considers Khloe as the mother of the year.

She said: “You are the most attentive of us all.”

Khloe responded by saying: “I’m very kind to everyone else, I’m just not very kind to myself. But being a mum is truly one of the most magical experiences ever.”

Khloe has had an incredibly turbulent time over the past four years. Her former partner Tristan Thompson has fathered two children in the course of their relationship and admitted cheating on her on several occasions, including a controversial kiss between him and her sister, Kylie Jenner’s best friend, Jordan Woods.

The situation caused a huge scandal within the Kardashian-Jenner clan and Khloe has vowed to keep him at arm’s length and set boundaries.

She revealed they only discuss the children and the days of them watching movies and hanging out as friends are over.

And being so open about her feelings about surrogacy and bonding with her children has opened up the debate on US surrogacy and the transactional approach that is attached to commercial surrogacy.
