Former Neighbours star Olympia Valance opens up about fertility journey

Australian actress Olympia Valance has revealed she and her husband, Thomas Bellchambers, suffered a heartbreaking miscarriage during the COVID crisis and have not been able to conceive since

The 31-year-old half-sister of Holly Valance opened up in a video on her Instagram page in which she explained what the couple had been through in the past two years.

She said: “I don’t usually show my vulnerabilities on my social media platforms, but I hope it might provide some comfort to anyone who is struggling with some fertility issues as we are.

“Thomas and I miscarried twins right in the middle of COVID, which, as you can imagine, was excruciatingly painful.

“Ever since then, we haven’t been able to conceive. That would be two years of really trying.

“Your heart breaks in two.”

Olympia, who stars as Paige Smith in Neighbours, said she was petrified of going down the IVF route.

She said: “I’ve been petrified to go down the IVF path because I’ve never been good with hormones. Adding more hormones to my raging cycles scares the s**t out of me, but here we are.”

The actress confirmed that the couple, who married in 2022, would start IVF treatment and document their journey to parenthood.

Miscarriage. Why does it happen?
