Leaders Romans Group introduces New Employee Benefit

The estate agnency chain Leaders Romans Group has recently introduced a new benefit aimed at providing support to employees undergoing fertility treatment

This policy allows staff members to take time off work, with different conditions depending on their length of service.

For those with less than three years of service, the time off is unpaid, whereas those with more than three years of service are eligible for paid time off. The policy allows 10 days off for individuals undergoing IVF treatment and five days off for their partner or co-parent. Additionally, support is also available for those undergoing procedures such as egg or embryo freezing, sperm freezing, and surrogacy.

The group recognises the importance of supporting colleagues going through fertility treatment and acknowledges the need for workplace support. The decision to implement this policy is aligned with the increasing numbers of individuals undergoing fertility procedures, as reported by the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority. From 2019 to 2021, there was a 64% increase in egg-freezing and storage and a 10% increase in IVF and donor-insemination cycles. The IVF industry also indicates a rise in IVF patients in same-sex relationships and single parents undergoing fertility treatment.

Hannah Cooper, Group HR director, emphasized the group’s commitment to being an inclusive organization

The introduction of family-friendly policies, such as the Fertility Journey policy, aims to create an open and honest workplace while supporting both parents. The group is delighted to provide this benefit, which goes beyond any statutory requirement, to foster a sense of belonging within Leaders Romans Group.

The various brands under the Leaders Romans Group umbrella, include Bode Insurance Solutions, Boyer, Dunlop Heywood, Gibbs Gillespie, Glide, Hose Rhodes Dickson, Leaders, Moginie James, Mortgage Scout, Portico, Romans, Scott Fraser, SOWN, Three Sixty Space, and The Acorn Group (which includes Langford Russell, John Payne, Unique Homes, Start Financial Services, and MAP Chartered Surveyors), are all covered by this new policy.
