In September of 2019, the decision was made to resume efforts to conceive a child.
Finding a Clinic for Trying to Conceive
In light of this, multiple clinics in the vicinity were contacted, however, none provided prompt responses to our inquiries. Subsequently, we contacted our insurance provider to obtain a comprehensive list of clinics that accepted our insurance. Following this, we contacted a clinic on the aforementioned list, which responded promptly, and we were able to secure our first appointment with them in October 2019.
Consultation For Trying to Conceive
During this initial consultation, we discussed our conception history and previous fertility tests. Furthermore, laboratory assessments were carried out, including tests for AMH (an indicator of the remaining egg quantity and number of fertile years), TSH (a measure of thyroid stimulating hormone), Vitamin D (an assessment of vitamin D levels), and Genetic testing (to identify any abnormal genes that may lead to specific ailments).
Follow-up
The subsequent appointment was primarily focused on discussing the test results, in addition to IVF, ICSI, and genetic testing. After making the decision to proceed with IVF, the next step was obtaining financial clearance, which necessitated payment of the expenses of each cycle in advance.
Financial Clearance
Following a consultation with one of the financial advisers, where details of the IVF cycle expenses and medication costs were reviewed, we departed feeling somewhat disheartened and overwhelmed. As a result, we believed that the efforts were not worthwhile at that stage.

It’s advisable to schedule consultations with prospective clinics to discuss specific concerns and gather more personalized information.
